While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I encountered behind its walls was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .

From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this establishment . The surfaces were tacky , and a foul smell of stale beer and dirty bathrooms filled the entire venue . Smelling a mixture of human waste, a rotting odor and illness . The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and debris that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The bathroom was in even a more revolting state — backed up, with a broken handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was feces.
It wasn’t just a isolated occurrence either. Based on the experiences shared online and chatting with the community, it seems that the level of hygiene (or lack thereof) at Masterson’s is a recurring complaint. Many patrons have reported observing cockroaches darting across the counter and traces bar mastersons of mice in the adjoining rooms.
